Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026. This policy covers the Silo Studio app for macOS, and this website. They are not the same, so they are answered separately below.

The short version

Silo Studio generates images entirely on your Mac. There is no account, no sign-in and no server of mine anywhere in the picture. I do not collect, receive, store or transmit any personal data from the app, and it contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or telemetry of any kind. In App Store terms, the answer to every question is Data Not Collected.

I have no way to see your prompts, your images, your settings or how you use the app, because none of it is ever sent to me.

This website is a different thing, and I hold it to a weaker promise: it counts its visits. That section is at the bottom, and it changes nothing about the app.

Part one: the app

What stays on your Mac

Everything the app produces or remembers is stored in its own folder in your Library, on your own disk:

• Your images, as ordinary files you can open, copy or delete with the Finder.
• Your prompts, seeds and settings, in a local database beside them.
• The models you downloaded, along with any styles or model folders you imported yourself.

Deleting the app’s Library folder removes all of it. Nothing is kept anywhere else, and there is no copy for me to delete on your behalf.

1. Hugging Face — downloading models

When you choose a model to download, the app fetches its weight files from huggingface.co. That request carries no identifier of yours beyond the ordinary metadata any web request carries, such as your IP address, which Hugging Face handles under its own privacy policy.

Some models are gated and require a Hugging Face access token. If you choose to use one, you type the token into Settings yourself. It is stored in the macOS Keychain, and it leaves your Mac only as an Authorization header sent to Hugging Face — never to me, and never anywhere else. No model preselected during setup requires a token, so you can use the app without ever entering one.

2. civitai.com — finding a style, if you ask

If you ask the in-app assistant to find a style (a LoRA), it searches civitai.com and shows you what it found as text: the file’s name, its base model, its size and a link to its page. Nothing downloads until you press Run, and no third-party image is ever drawn on a search result — the card carries text and a link only, so nothing unreviewed appears on screen unless you deliberately open that link in your browser.

One other request goes to the same service, and it is worth stating precisely rather than rounding off: when you import a style file from your own disk, the app looks that file up by its SHA-256 hash to fetch a thumbnail for it. That is a picture for a file you went and got, not for a search result nobody has chosen, and the hash identifies the file rather than you.

And nothing else

No image you generate, no prompt you write, no file in your library and no record of what you did is ever uploaded, to me or to anyone. The app contains no browser, no web view, no sharing feature, no feed and no way for one user to see another user’s work.

The models themselves

The models Silo Studio runs are third-party open-weight files that run locally on your Mac. The Python engine that loads them ships inside the app bundle and is signed with it; what you download is data, loaded by that engine and never executed as code. Each model carries its own licence — the app names the restrictive ones, such as non-commercial use, before you download. Running a model sends nothing anywhere.

The assistant can also run a local language model you import from your own disk instead of Apple’s on-device one. That model writes prompt text; it does not generate images, and it runs on your Mac like everything else.

Third-party services

Once a request reaches Hugging Face or Civitai, it is governed by their policies rather than by this one:

If you buy the app from the Mac App Store, Apple handles the purchase and download under Apple’s privacy policy. I receive only the anonymous, aggregated sales figures Apple shows every developer; they identify no one.

Part two: this website

siloformac.com is a set of static pages hosted on Vercel. Unlike the app, it measures its own traffic, using Vercel Web Analytics.

That measurement is cookieless: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not follow you to any other site. What it records is aggregate — page views, referrers, country, and browser and device family. It does not identify you, and there is nothing in it that could be joined to anything you do in the app, because the app reports nothing. This is also why you were not asked to dismiss a consent banner: there is nothing here to consent to.

Vercel also records standard server request logs, as any web host does, under its own privacy policy.

None of this changes the answer for the app. The App Store’s App Privacy questionnaire asks what the app collects, and that answer is Data Not Collected throughout, whatever this website does.

Children

Silo Studio is rated 18+ and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because the app does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes in the same release — and the date at the top changes with it. The same rule binds the website half.
